EL PASO (BHN) - President Barack Obama hit the campaign trail Tuesday, appearing in this border town to rally support from its high concentration of illegal immigrants. Obama and fellow Democrats are increasingly attempting to make the nation's 11 million illegals voting U.S. citizens, in order to guarantee their future re-elections.
Many Republicans accuse the President of using the appearance to pander to the illegal immigrant community purely for political purposes - a charge the White House firmly denies. "This has nothing to do with elections, this is about strengthening the U.S. economy and beautifying our cities with millions of additional landscapers, block layers, and maids," said spokesman Jay Carney.
President Obama serenaded the audience with a mariachi band before his address, then helped distribute food stamps and subwoofers to the enthusiastic crowd afterward.
