LONDON (BHN) - The White House yesterday issued a scathing response to the report that the London mayor's office was charging the U.S. a £10 "congestion" tax for "The Beast."
"While not denying this fine may be justified, we strongly condemn your use of such a derogatory nickname. We consider this type of name-calling beneath the level of acceptable civil discourse, and respectfully request that in the future you refer to Mrs. Obama by either her rightful name, or "First Lady," said White House spokesman Jay Carney.
Later, the White House hastily retracted the statement when it was learned that the tax in question was levied against the presidential Cadillac limousine, also commonly referred to as "the beast."
My comments: Woo! I'm glad they clarified that, I was getting pissed off, too!
